MassWildlife’s Angler Education program offers a variety of fun classes for beginners as well as clinics for more advanced anglers.

Taught by staff and volunteers, MassWildlife hosts freshwater fishing events throughout the year. If you’re just getting started, sign up for a beginner class to learn the basics of freshwater fishing. Next steps classes offer an opportunity to try out a particular fishing skill like ice fishing or fly tying.

MassWildlife offers classes designed for beginners and more advanced hunters. If you’re just starting out, sign up for Basic Hunter Education, a required course for first-time adult hunters. Learn about a specific hunting method with classes like Bowhunter Education and Black Powder Education. Get detailed instruction for hunting specific kinds of game animals with Learn to Hunt classes. Or Explore classes designed specifically for youth and women hunters.

The Saltwater Angler Education Program was created to engage the public in saltwater fishing in Massachusetts. Our mission is to teach responsible fishing in an enthusiastic environment and create avid lifelong anglers.

Description

Marine Fisheries hosts saltwater clinics and events throughout the summer. Programs range from basic saltwater fishing education classes for young kids learning to fish through fun and exciting activities, to adult classes in which we educate adults on how to teach youth anglers to saltwater fish.
